Dal Tadka

Ingredients
- 1 cup toor dal
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 4 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 2 dried red chillies
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Fresh coriander
- Salt to taste
Steps
- Pressure cook toor dal with turmeric and salt until soft.
- Mash dal and adjust consistency with water.
- Heat ghee, add cumin seeds and dried red chillies.
- Add sliced garlic and fry until golden.
- Add onion and tomato, cook 3 minutes.
- Pour the sizzling tadka over the dal.
- Garnish with coriander. Serve with rice or roti.
