  1. Steam idli batter in moulds for 10-12 minutes.
  2. Cook toor dal until soft.
  3. Heat oil, temper mustard seeds and curry leaves.
  4. Add vegetables and sauté. Add sambar powder and tomato.
  5. Add cooked dal, tamarind, salt, and water.
  6. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  7. Serve idlis with hot sambar and coconut chutney.
