Ingredients
- 1 medium bottle gourd, peeled and cubed
- 1 tsp panch phoron
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp grated coconut
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 1 green chilli
- Salt to taste
Steps
- Peel and cube the bottle gourd.
- Heat mustard oil, temper panch phoron and bay leaf.
- Add bottle gourd, turmeric, and salt.
- Cover and cook on low heat until soft (gourd releases its own water).
- Add sugar and grated coconut.
- Cook until slightly dry. Serve with rice and dal.
