Ingredients
- 2 cups puttu rice flour (roasted)
- 1 cup fresh grated coconut
- 3/4 cup warm water
- Salt to taste
Steps
- Mix puttu flour with salt. Drizzle warm water and rub between palms until it resembles breadcrumbs.
- Test: a fistful should just hold together, then crumble when tapped.
- Layer the puttu maker: coconut, flour, coconut, flour — ending with coconut on top.
- Steam for 8-10 minutes until fragrant.
- Gently push out the cylinder and serve hot with kadala curry, banana, or papadam.
