Ingredients
- 1/4 cup toor dal, cooked
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp tamarind paste
- 1 tsp rasam powder
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 dried red chillies
- 8 curry leaves
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp ghee
- Fresh coriander
- Salt to taste
Steps
- Cook toor dal and mash.
- Boil tomatoes with tamarind paste and rasam powder.
- Add cooked dal and water, bring to a boil.
- Heat ghee, temper mustard, cumin, garlic, chillies, and curry leaves.
- Pour tempering into the rasam.
- Garnish with coriander.
- Pour over hot steamed rice. Serve with papad.
